Debian 10 (Buster) with LXQt: Tasks of "Leave" and "Lock screen" do not perform any action?

#1

I’ve installed a fresh Debian 10 (Buster) to try out the newest LXQt features. Until now everything works fine, but in start menue when clicking on “Leave” or “Lock screen” the provided options won’t cause any actions.

Maybe the current user does not have the necessary permissions to perform shutdowns/logouts etc.?

System components:

  • openbox
  • lightdm

The package lxqt-policykit is installed. I thought that’s all I would need?

You should install all Recommends. Have you done so?

openbox and lightdm are not thrown in by default - so hey, i bet, no recommends too.

To be honest: I really do not care. I will care if a debian weekly build (live or normal) will not work as expected. For the records:

  • download the latest minimal iso, switch the sources to sid update/upgrade
  • apt install task-lxqt-desktop - be done with

after that one can do some refinements in the next installation, change recommends, use different alternatives and so on.
