Google Summer of Code 2020

#21

I would suggest that perhaps ms google’s search engine isn’t quite a ‘good’ as you might think.

ALT-F1 opens the main menu but it does get focus seem so main menu without mouse is not possible e.g shutdown the system…

(Pedram Pourang) #23

Not true. Use up/down arrow keys.

I’ve started to use DuckDuckGo to see if I’ll feel a difference in the long run. Other search engines aren’t good for me.

Sorry, this was an off-topic subject that I shouldn’t mention. Let’s not continue it!

Depends on what application, if any has focus, and apparently if you have used/can use the up/down keys in that application. If it is the desktop/pcmanfm-qt the up/down keys switches selected icon, also after opening of lxqt-mainmenu with ALT+F1, if it is featherpad the you scroll in featherpad if lximage-qt nothing happends… So it does not always work…

(Pedram Pourang) #27

It’s always OK here, whether FeatherPad has focus or lximge-qt is open or…

There’s a possibility in your case. You may have assigned ALT+F1 to another job (or someone may have done that for you), especially a WM job. If a shortcut is assigned more than once, weird things could happen.

Wow! You’re right! I succeeded in reproducing it while scrolling in pcmanfm-qt!

EDIT: It seems that scrolling inside a view triggers the issue. I added comments to https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/issues/401

The deadline is near, https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/how-it-works/

@agaida will lxqt be applying?
