LXQt and Wifi connection

(Uros) #1

I have LXQt 0.13.0 installed on ACER ASPIRE ONE laptop. The Wifi connection does not work on this system. Wired connection works normally. Wifi APoint is set to DHCP.

What do I have to do?

What is the wireless card? $ lspci | grep controller

(Uros) #3

Broadcom Inc. and subsid. BCM4312 802.11b/g

install the broadcom non-free firmware and be done with.

How? I am new in Linux.

You should ask or search in the forums of your distro.

Common guys… please help me.

LXQt only is the desktop environment, the wifi connection is done in a lower level. Broadcom is problematic, if your distribution is *ubuntu or lubuntu, you should look at this http://askubuntu.com/questions/55868/installing-broadcom-wireless-drivers

Yes, when I started my computer, on screen writes LUBUNTU. When I go to the “About the system”, is witten LXQt 0.13.0.

then better go to lubuntu support channels, here you can find them: https://lubuntu.me/links/ anyway, the link of askubuntu I put earlier is the same link I would give in the lubuntu support channels. But is better to continue this conversation there and not here.

I found the solution.

Just wired connect to the Internet.

Open a terminal window (ctrl-alt-t), and run the command:

sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source

And reboot the computer.
