Text-Overflow from Taskbar widget

#1

Hello friends

Is the “text-overflow” behavior from taskbar widget(Lxqt-pannel) a “hard-coded” thing?

Can i change “Lxqt Rules” text-overflow from “Lx…s” to “Lxqt…” somewhere confs file?

Thanks!

When you use a vertical panel and still want button texts, check the auto-rotate option in task manager’s settings and choose a appropriate max width and height.

You could also choose to show only icons instead.

Thank you!

I want the text and a “relative big” panel width just like that, but i would like the “text wrapping” to preserve the beginning of the text…

Is this even possible? :joy:

With the latest git lxqt-panel, eliding is done at the text end. Qt 5.12 enforced middle eliding but we added a workaround (see https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt-panel/pull/1163).

So, you need the latest git LXQt. That’s easy with Arch and Manjaro (and, maybe, Debian sid, siduction and OpenSUSE Tumbleweed). If you have another distro, ask its LXQt maintainers.
